Supporting you in your care home search

When choosing the perfect care home for a loved one, we recommend starting with the location and asking yourself whether our Stockport or Staffordshire homes are best for you. Once you’ve decided on the location, be sure to take a look through all of the homes in your chosen area by visiting the Our Homes section of our website. Here, you can get an initial feel for each home through pictures, amenities lists, and testimonials from our residents’ families before deciding to visit our homes in person.

Step 2

Giving a helping hand in the application process

Once you’ve chosen the home(s) that you’re interested in, it’s time to get in touch with our team to get started on your application. Simply head to the Our Homes section of our website, select the home you’re interested in and scroll down to find its contact details. No matter whether you’d prefer to reach out via email, phone call or social media, our team is here to support you through the process of applying for our homes. If you need more support choosing the perfect home for yourself or a loved one, we can help you consider all the options.

Step 3

Getting to know you better

After your application is approved, we move on to pre-admission where we get to know more about our residents through an assessment. We’ll organise a telephone or video call with you and your loved one to help us understand how we can make their move into care an easy, positive process for you both. By getting to know our residents and their needs better, we can create individual support plans tailored to your needs. Everyone’s personalities are unique and that’s reflected in their care solutions.

Once a date for admission is set, we’ll send you an Information Pack and contract with all the information you need to know. After you have completed the contract, we can arrange admission.

Step 4

Welcoming you to your new home

On moving-in day, we do everything to ensure that you and your loved one have a smooth, positive experience. This starts with us rolling out the red carpet to welcome you to your new home (our “red-carpet welcome”). A member of our team will then greet you both on arrival, give you a tour of the home, and help you settle into your new space with ease. Your new room will be filled with welcoming treats, food and drink, and other essentials that are personal to you. Putting extra effort into creating personalised spaces for our residents makes all the difference when it comes to moving in, so we always make sure to decorate your space to your personal preferences. Of course, we’re sure you’ll have a few of your own personal items with you to make your space feel special too.

Step 5

Building your individual care plan

It’s important to us that our care is always individualised for each resident at Borough Care. Whilst we create a unique care plan for all residents when they first move into our homes, this isn’t set in stone throughout their whole care experience. Needs and requirements can change over time, which is why we review resident Support Plans every month. This helps us ensure that we’re offering the best possible care for your loved ones, always. We encourage families to be a part of this process to ensure that everything from support changes to tweaked diets, to the urge to learn the piano, is as accurate and up-to-date as possible.
